Our future lies with us, building from the ground up by supporting our younger generations

We couldn’t be prouder to share our partnership with Braeview Academy and The Polar Academy, supporting the extraordinary Arctic Adventure pupils will embark on in 2024!

Tomorrow’s Explorers and Environmental Ambassadors

The Polar Academy is a renowned charity with a remarkable mission to inspire and empower young people to achieve their full potential through exploration. Their Arctic expeditions are designed to challenge and transform young people’s lives, instilling qualities that will serve them throughout their futures and cultivating resilience, leadership, and a deep connection with the environment.

Those selected for The Polar Academy are trained in extreme conditions to ensure they have the skills to take on the challenge, make vital decisions, and take responsibility for themselves and their team. They prepare in every aspect for their expedition, from planning clothing and equipment to facing cold chamber training for sub-zero temperatures.

Combining and sharing their experience when they return to the classroom, whether physical education, geography, humanities, or history, they continue to inspire others to do the same. Many have subsequently moved into courses in environmental science, sustainability, and outdoor education at university, and many have spoken at COP26.

A Helping Hand from RADIX

We firmly believe that when you plant seeds of support in your community, you help grow a brighter future for everyone. With this ethos in mind, when the pupils of Braeview Academy reached out looking for support, we were delighted to donate £1500 to help fund the pupils’ Arctic adventure.

Our commitment didn’t stop there. We also wanted to ensure these young adventurers would stay warm and comfortable in the harsh Arctic climate, and we donated a further £400 to provide each pupil with warm, high-quality hats to keep them safe and snug during their expedition.

Action and Community Come Together

The pupils of Braeview Academy have worked tirelessly to raise funds for their trip, organizing sponsored kilt walks, offering bag packing at local supermarkets, cycling over 250 miles, hosting competitions, and more.

We were humbled to see the support from the local community rallying behind these young explorers, with parents, teachers, and local businesses joining hands to support the cause. It is a testament to the power of community.

The Arctic Adventure Begins

With the support of RADIX, the local community, and The Polar Academy, these young explorers are working towards embarking on their Arctic adventure. They’ll leave for Greenland’s icy shores in March 2024, where they will witness nature’s majesty in its purest form, trekking across glaciers, facing icy winds, and enduring the stark beauty of the Arctic wilderness. Along the way, they’ll uncover the strength within themselves and the power of unity as a team.

At RADIX, we are immensely proud to have played a small part in this incredible adventure, and we are excited to follow the progress of these young explorers.
