Overview

Protecting the existing landscape with a low-impact foundation solution for a Bothy in Scotland

The Artist Bothy is situated in the East Neuk of Fife and was a pioneer project for Bothy Stores and ground screw foundations. It was also a first for No More Digging to work with this specific lightweight floor cassette system developed by Bothy Stores in collaboration with BlokBuild.

Consideration was given to the surrounding area and the importance of streamlining the installation with minimum impact on the existing landscape.

Solution

Achieving strong foundations with minimal impact

Close communication and planning with @BothyStores provided a comprehensive understanding of the Artist Bothy structure and the specification for its foundations

Keeping with the principles of simplicity, sustainability, and minimum environmental impact, we installed 8 x RADIX PRO RF200 76x1550mm ground screw piles, which provided a strong and level platform for the bothy to be installed.

Ground screw piles were driven in using our portable, handheld ground screw machines and installation equipment, avoiding the need for any heavy plant machinery and ensuring no damage to the surrounding landscape.

Very impressed with the ground screw foundations by No More Digging! Saves time, money, and takes away the mess of digging and concrete. Excellent foundation solution for The Artist Bothy.
